A Limestone Sentinel Standing Above the White Drin

Located along the border separating southwestern Kosovo and northeastern Albania between Prizren and Kukës, Mount Koritnik is a wooded limestone massif entirely encircled by branches of the White Drin River. Rising to its pinnacle at Maja e Pikëllimës (2,395 meters / 7,858 ft), this majestic mountain forms a key protected sector of the Korab-Koritnik Nature Park and the wider European Green Belt.

Starting from the village of Rapçë in Kosovo via a paved road, the route follows an unpaved track for approximately 6 kilometers before making a direct north-side push up off-trail terrain. Hikers gain the high ridge at kilometer 8, continuing along the crest for another 2 kilometers to reach the summit. Featuring dense pine woods, high alpine meadows home to wild chamois, and panoramic winter vistas, Koritnik offers an unmissable adventure for experienced trekkers.
